PA Building Group has spent 43 years in Melbourne residential construction. Most of what we do is older housing stock: Victorian and Edwardian homes, Californian bungalows, interwar brick, and the post-war houses that followed.

How long does a renovation or extension take?
It depends on the job and what's already in the programme. Small repairs can often be slotted in quickly. Extensions depend on permits more than on our availability: most rear extensions run several months on site once permits are in hand, and the permit stage itself depends on the council and whether a heritage overlay applies. We give you a realistic date and a build programme before we start, rather than an optimistic one.
How does the process work?
Four steps. Tell us the idea, by phone or the form. We come and look, take measurements and send an itemised written quote, with no charge and no obligation. We then build it: programme locked in, trades booked, permits managed, and a number that gets answered. At handover there is a final walk-through, the defect list is closed out, and we still pick up the phone afterwards.
Are you a registered builder?
Yes. Paul Athinis and the company are both registered with Victoria's Building and Plumbing Commission: DB-U 44080 and CDB-U 51464. You can look them up on the public register before you sign anything.
How do quotes work?

The visit and the quote are free, and there's no obligation. Detailed design and documentation, if you go that route, is paid work, and we'll tell you what it costs before you commit.
Do you take on small jobs?
Yes. A good share of the work is repairs and small carpentry, alongside full additions and renovations. See property maintenance. Jobs range from one bathroom to the whole back half of the house.
